RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead, and another is in custody following a shooting in Richland County on Sunday afternoon.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said the incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Wynn Way, a neighborhood road off Piney Grove Road near Broad River Road. Arriving deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso. Authorities said he died at the scene.
A woman was detained after the shooting.
Authorities didn't provide any additional information about the nature of the shooting but said it is still under investigation, and there doesn't appear to be a threat to the public.
