COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police say one person is receiving treatment after a shooting in one of Columbia's busiest commercial districts.
The Columbia Police Department said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Harden Street in Five Points. Police heard the gunshots and requested additional officers to the scene. Authorities said a male victim was wounded to the lower body.
A photo shared by police shows a parking lot along Harden Street bounded by police tape.
Police are working to determine who fired the shots and haven't said what may have led to the shooting. However, it occurred just hours after St. Patrick's weekend festivities that brought thousands to the Five Points area.
