Columbia Police recover stolen truck after armed carjacking

Based on preliminary information about the incident, police do not believe the general public is in danger.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police have recovered a stolen truck following a Sunday afternoon carjacking in the Lower Richland area.

Officials said the incident began with the vehicle being stolen from the victim in the 4000 block of Ulmer Street near Leesburg Road. Authorities said the suspects were armed at the time. Police said they have since found the truck and are actively investigating the case and looking for persons of interest.
