Second Sumter murder suspect surrenders to sheriff's deputies

19-year-old suspect allegedly shot D'ante J Archie to death on October 14

SUMTER, S.C. — A 19-year-old murder suspect has turned himself in to Sumter County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), ending a the search by law enforcement.

Jordan Malik Coleman-Jacobs surrendered himself Monday morning, October 21, to SCSO deputies. Coleman-Jacobs was the second suspect to be arrested for the October 14 shooting death of D'ante J Archie, 20, of Sumter County.

The first person suspected in Archie's death was Jaqual Jamaul Coleman, a cousin of Coleman-Jacobs.

Around 9:50 a.m. on October 14, SCSO deputies responded to a call of an unconscious person laying near a home on Byas Road, off Cane Savannah Road, near Wedgefield. Arriving at the scene, deputies found Archie dead and his vehicle parked on the road. Investigators were able to determine that Archie's death may have been related to a shooting that happened less than a mile away, on Duffie Road, around 2 a.m.

After the arrests of Coleman and Coleman-Jacobs, Sumter Sheriff Anthony Dennis says the case is still investigation.
