COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Police have made a third arrest in a delivery driver's shooting death.
The Columbia Police Department announced on Thursday that it had arrested 19-year-old De'marcus Boyd on charges of murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a stolen pistol and attempted armed robbery in the death of 48-year-old Christopher Shirah on Nov. 29, 2023.
Investigators believe Shirah, who was delivering food for Pizza Hut at the time, was the victim of an attempted armed robbery at Tamarind Apartments along Stoneridge Drive. Investigators had already charged 18-year-old Trevor Harris and a 17-year-old boy. They were charged with murder, attempted armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
