COLUMBIA, S.C. — Three new arrests have been made in connection to a shooting that left a teen and an adult dead in northeast Richland County back in April, according to Richland County deputies.
Deputies say 19-year-old Amir Fairwell, 24-year-old Darryl Hamilton and 20-year-old Nadia Hamilton are charged in connection with shooting death of 16-year-old Jayden Scales-Amiker and 35-year-old Marvin D. Archie in the 100 block of Angel Garden Way back on April 11, 2024.
According to deputies, all three are related to the adult victim from the shooting incident on April 11, and all three were involved in the confrontation of the robbery suspect juveniles at the 100 block of Angel Garden Way.
All three are charged with one count of murder. Darryl Hamilton and Nadia Hamilton are both also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Back on April 16, a 14-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of murder in connection to the shooting.
Deputies said the shooting was the result of a confrontation that occurred because of a robbery that happened the night before.
Deputies said four juveniles robbed another juvenile of his personal items around 7 pm on April 10, 2024 in the 2300 block of Decker Blvd, near the Food Lion. The following day, deputies say the father of the robbery victim and several others were engaged in an altercation.
It’s believed the 14-year-old, armed with a pistol that had been illegally modified with a switch so that it was fully automatic, shot and Archie and Scales-Amiker. The 14-year-old suspect also sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body and was transported from the scene to a local hospital.
Three juveniles were charged in connection to the robbery on April 10. A 14-year-old and two 16-year-olds were charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a handgun under 18, and kidnapping. The fourth suspect was the deceased juvenile.
The 14-year-old was charged with two counts of murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a handgun under 18.
Deputies say the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
