RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have made an arrest in what they now describe as a social media feud that turned deadly at a Richland County event venue.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said it had arrested 19-year-old Quamir Davis on Thursday morning while serving a warrant at his home with assistance from state agents and Cayce Police.
Investigators believe Davis was responsible for the death of 23-year-old Ra'Donte Green of North Charleston, who was shot multiple times at Suite Sixty on Two Notch Road. Deputies arrived at the scene just before midnight on Oct. 25, where they found Green shot. Despite attempts to save him, the victim died at the scene, the sheriff's department said.
Witnesses said a large fight had broken out at the venue, and Green was shot several times by a suspect who was outside. However, the suspect, later identified as Davis, left before deputies arrived.
In Friday's update, authorities said the fight on Oct. 25 followed an "ongoing social media feud" between two groups. Davis has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken into custody around 6 a.m. on Thursday without incident and taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
