COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County authorities say two people are in custody following the armed robbery of a phone store earlier in the year.
According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, the robbery happened on Jan. 14 around 7 p.m. The sheriff's department said a woman, later identified as 27-year-old Shaquailla German, approached the victim and spoke to them in the 500 block of Bush River Road at a Verizon store. Investigators said the victim believed German was a customer.
The department said that while the victim and German were speaking, two men entered the store wearing ski masks and approached the victim and German, pointing a gun at the victim and ordering him to take them to the phones. German and the victim loaded the phones into a bag, and the two male suspects left. The sheriff's department said that German then left with an unpaid phone.
Investigators later determined that German was tied to the robbery and identified one of the masked suspects as 21-year-old Charles Cribb. Authorities learned both were out on bond for a similar robbery in Fayetteville, North Carolina. German was arrested on March 11 and charged with kidnapping and armed robbery. She has been released on bond.
Cribb was arrested on April 2 in Fayetteville, North Carolina and is awaiting extradition on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Investigators haven't identified the third suspect, and deputies are asking anyone who may know who he is to come forward. Tipsters can submit information anonymously at 1-888-CRIME-SC at CrimeSC.com.
