Former Broadway Star and Columbia Native Zeliq Williams is missing

"We want to see you come home Z, if you are seeing this or listening to this please come home we love you very much and we want you home safely."

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former Broadway star and Columbia native Zeliq Williams is missing.

"We love him, we want him home. Please, if he is seen, spotted, please contact the police department so that we can bring Zeliq home," said Christine Barber, Williams' aunt.

Williams, who's 28-years-old, made his Broadway debut in back 2016 in the cast of 'Hamilton' and even worked for actor Hugh Jackman's tour in 2019.

Now, his family is asking the public to help search for him after he was reported missing around 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, October 3rd.

Williams' aunt Christine says she recalls the last conversation he had with his mother before disappearing, saying it was odd to not hear from him.

"The two of them are like two peas in a pod, I mean he lives with his mother and they spoke right before he left, but he didn't say where he was going, so that's a big shocker to know that he never returned home," she said.

Richland County Sheriff's Department's Public Information Officer, Jay Weaver, told News19 his car was found on Friday, October 4th on the intersection of Bluff Road and McCords Ferry, near the Palmetto Trail parking area - but they did not find him.

"The family said it's not normal for him to not contact and he does require a type of medication so its very important we reach out to the public," Weaver said.

Many know him as a local creator looking to give back to the community and planning to host Broadway boot camps, helping the youth follow their dreams.

"He was just an amazing young man. I know he did Southern Strut, I believe from 6th grade on. He was a Dreher High School graduate, shared his knowledge of Broadway with students here. He was looking forward to coming home to share that," said Mieoki Corbett Jacobs, Williams' cousin.

Williams' family says all they want is to see him continue to pursue his passion but most important to come back home.

"We want to see you come home Z. If you are seeing this or listening to this, please come home. We love you very much, and we want you home safely," said Barber.

The Richland County Sheriff encourages anyone with information to call the Sheriff's Department at (803) 576-3000 or SC Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
