COLUMBIA, S.C. — Segra Park's Fireflies Holiday Lights event marks its second year. The park opened its holiday lights exhibit on Nov. 16. Attendees can have visits with Santa, scavenger hunts, and more.
Hunter Thornburg came with his family for the holiday spirit.
"We just did it as a little family outing," said Thornburg. "Just have fun have something to do since Thanksgiving was just yesterday, so just something to do."
Rachel Russell attended the event with her new baby, hoping to make memories.
"Well I brought baby Harmony out," said Russell. "She's only two months old and I want her to see Santa Clause and look at all the lights. This is my first event as a family and I'm very excited, she's excited too."
Brad Shank, the Columbia Fireflies team president, says Segra Park is more than just a baseball stadium.
"We want to be a community venue so whether it's coming out for an Alzheimer's walk, coming out and looking at holiday lights," said Shank. "We want to have something for everybody even if you're not a baseball fan you can come out and enjoy Segra Park and have some fun."
The Columbia Fireflies hosts their holiday lights event until Dec. 31 but will be closed on Christmas Day.
Segra Park also offers free hot chocolate vouchers to those who come in ugly holiday sweaters on Tuesdays.
