LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities cleared the scene after bringing a sizeable house fire under control in Sandy Run on Saturday.

According to Lexington County officials, Lexington County Fire Service crews, Lexington County Emergency Services, and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department were called to the 400 block of Calvary Church Road in Sandy Run due to a house fire around 11:45 a.m. Calhoun County's Sandy Run Fire Department was also on the scene.

The first crews at the home found it already burning heavily. As of around 12:30 p.m., crews were still working to extinguish the fire. Due to the heavy emergency service activity and fire trucks shuttling water to the scene, Lexington County urged drivers to avoid the area at the time. The road has since cleared.
