FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains in Fairfield County, the sheriff's office announced on Friday.
According to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, the remains were found south of Jenkinsville by a logging crew that was working in the area. The sheriff's office said it is working closely with the Fairfield County Coroner's Office to determine the victim's identity and cause of death.
Authorities haven't said exactly when the remains were found but said they were "recently discovered." It's also unclear how long they may have been in the area.
