Fire at Columbia condo caused $350,000 in damage, fire officials say

The broke out just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at the condos.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Damage is estimated at $350,000 at an condo building in Columbia where a large fire took place Tuesday afternoon.

Columbia Fire Officials gave the damage total Wednesday. A cause of the fire has still not been determined but the Richland County Fire Marshal's Office continues to investigate. 

The broke out just before 4 p.m. at the condos, which are located on Old Manor Road off Broad River Road in Columbia. 

Upon arrival, crews say they found fire moving quickly through the building and roof. This prompted officers on scene to call for a second alarm, dispatching more companies to the scene. 

Two occupants of the building have been transported for injuries, according to officials. There's no update on their conditions yet. 

A total of 20 residents were displaced and were receiving help from the American Red Cross.  In all, over 19 fire units were involved in fighting the fire.
