KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — A three-hour standoff in Lugoff ended with a fire and an arrest on Friday night.
According to Kershaw County deputies, 31-year-old Walter Deonte Halley barricaded himself in a home in the 1400 block of Horsehead Lane.
Authorities said deputies arrived at the home in response to reports of gunfire around 5:30 p.m. Friday. No one was injured, but a victim said Halley fired a gun at him and then barricaded himself in the home.
The Special Response Team, Kershaw Sheriff's Office and Camden Police Department negotiators responded to the scene.
When Halley stepped outside the back of the home, deputies fired bean bag shots and sent a K-9 officer for him, the sheriff's office said. However, Halley ran back inside the house.

Law enforcement then used gas in the windows of the home. The sheriff's office said the house caught fire, and then law enforcement entered to remove Halley.
Authorities said Pine Grove Fire Department was already staged nearby before using gas. That department, the Lugoff Fire Department and Kershaw County Emergency Medical Services rendered aid to Halley before he was taken to the Kershaw County Detention Center.
Halley was already wanted in connection to a different shooting earlier in the month, the sheriff's office said.
