Search underway for teen missing from Kershaw County DSS

The police department reported that he left the office while still in DSS care.

CAMDEN, S.C. — Camden Police are searching for a missing teen they believe ran away from a state agency that was caring for him.

According to the department, 17-year-old Bryson Starling Lee Sawyer was last seen at the Kershaw County Department of Social Services (DSS) on East DeKalb Street in Camden on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. 

The police department reported that he left the office while still in DSS care. At the time he left, Sawyer was wearing white Air Force One sneakers, black pants, and an orange pullover sweater with a missing pocket area. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 148 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Camden Police urge anyone with information on Sawyer's location to contact Detective Sgt. Carmen Oxandaboure at 803-425-6035.
