WINNSBORO, S.C. — She wished it was a little more so she could quit her job, but a woman who recently won the lottery after buying a ticket in Winnsboro told lottery officials she is still very excited about her six-figure jackpot.

The winner said she felt lucky when she bought a $5 Giant Jumbo Bucks ticket at the Mini-Mart on South Congress Street. Her feeling was right, and she beat one in 960,000 odds to win $250,000.

While it's not enough to retire, the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials she was nervous and excited thinking about how she could use the money. At this point, she's planning to put some of the money toward paying off her house and saving for her child's education.

The Mini Mart in Winnsboro received a commission of $2,500 for selling the winning ticket.
