GREENVILLE, S.C. — A South Carolina man was already on a lucky streak when he recently won the lottery. And that luck didn't run out after the ticket, with one memorable moment following another.
A Greenville man told officials with the South Carolina Education Lottery that he had to sit and consider the gravity of his $5 ticket win. He said winning the $200,000 jackpot on a scratch-off ticket was a great experience - not only because of the money but also because of what happened next.
The man said he proposed to his girlfriend, and she said, "Yes!" The engaged couple now have a few extra dollars to plan their wedding. The blessing is spreading to the JN's Express Mart on White Horse Road, where he bought the ticket.
For selling the $200,000 High Roller ticket, the store will get a $2,000 ticket.
There are three top prizes left in the game. Players have a one in 750,000 chance of winning.
