FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A Fort Mill man has been identified as the victim in a crash that happened on I-77 overnight in Fairfield County.
Coroner Chris Hill said the crash happened on the interstate while the victim, 45-year-old Felix Jose Zayas Hernandez, was walking in the lanes. Authorities said the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities intend to schedule an autopsy in Newberry to determine more about the man's death. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is also investigating the crash.
