CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — Emergency responders have reopened the westbound lanes of I-26 in Calhoun County following a gas line ruptured on Friday afternoon.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office confirmed to News19 around 6 p.m. that the issue occurred between the 125 and 129 mile markers. At the time, no additional details regarding the cause of the ruptured line were available.
Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said drivers were temporarily being detoured at mile marker 129 onto U.S. 21. However, just after 7 p.m., he confirmed that the interstate was reopening. He said a regular traffic flow would likely resume soon.
