Motorcyclist killed in Saturday night crash in Lexington County identified

SCHP said a motorcycle was heading west on Shelton Road when it traveled off the left side and hit a culvert.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a man who died following a motorcycle crash in Lexington County on Saturday.

Master Trooper Gary Miller with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Saturday around 8:15 p.m. Miller said a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading west on Shelton Road when it traveled off the left side and hit a culvert. The rider died as a result of the crash. 

The Lexington County Coroner's Office later confirmed the identity of the victim as 51-year-old Jerome Lamar Stutts of Lexington. Coroner Margaret Fisher said Stuts was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
