RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The coroner's office has identified a woman who died on Saturday following a crash involving a train outside of Blythewood.
Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford announced that 25-year-old Jennifer Kennedy of Blythewood died in the crash, which happened on Hobart Road around 5 p.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol, which is handling the investigation, said that the victim had been driving south on Hobart Road when it hit the train. Hobart Road primarily connects the Brookhaven community to nearby Farrow Road.
Further details of how the crash occurred are still being compiled by investigators.
"We are working with the South Carolina Highway Patrol to fully investigate this accident," Coroner Rutherford said.
