SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. — Schools in Saluda County were placed on a "modified lockdown" on Thursday following a suspected crime in a nearby county, the sheriff's office says.
Saluda County Sheriff Josh Price said all Saluda County schools were locked down following a possible attempted bank robbery in Edgefield County. Price said the lockdown was standard policy and a precaution taken due to the suspect's vehicle traveling on Hwy. 121 toward Saluda.
Price said he sent deputies to the area but that the lockdown lasted only about an hour.
