Lexington County deputies arrest man on attempted murder, drug charges

Authorities said the man opened fire on a woman during an argument in March. He was later arrested with two pounds of marijuana, meth and a loaded gun.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have arrested a man on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly opened fire on a woman. They added more charges upon his arrest due to what they said he had with him.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department said deputies arrested 20-year-old Korey Muller of West Columbia following an argument with a woman on March 4. Sheriff Jay Koon said during the argument, Muller grabbed a gun from his car and fired a shot at the victim. Authorities said the woman wasn't injured.

Muller was arrested in April, at which time the sheriff said he was found with two pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.

As a result, he was also charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He also faces a charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime due to the shooting.
