Two teens and an adult arrested in Richland County fight, shooting

Authorities made two arrests in June and another on Tuesday.

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Two teens and an adult have been arrested in connection with a shooting that arose from an alleged water gun fight in Richland County.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department announced on Friday that it had arrested two 16-year-olds on June 24 following a shooting in the 100 block of Bombing Range Road in mid-June. An adult, 21-year-old Kiante Siller, was arrested on Tuesday.

Deputies said their investigation began when they responded to an area hospital on the evening of June 21, where a teen gunshot victim was receiving treatment. Deputies learned that the shooting took place on Bombing Range Road behind Bridge Creek Elementary School. Investigators soon uncovered that the shooting happened while the victim and others were at the location playing with water guns.

Deputies said the victim was involved in a fight initiated by the two juvenile suspects. During the fight, Siller got a gun from the trunk of a vehicle and shot the victim.

Siller has been charged with four counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

The two juveniles were charged with third-degree assault and battery.
