Free meals for kids at Richland Library's 'Summer Break Cafes' program

Summer Break Cafe meals will be served on-site on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Richland Library will offer lunches to children and teens up to age 18 over the summer through its "Summer Break Cafes" at various locations.

The library announced the details of the program, which runs from June 3 to Aug. 2, on Saturday.

The cafes will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays - except July 4 - at three locations: Edgewood at 2101 Oak St., North Main at 5306 North Main St. and St. Andrews at 2916 Broad River Rd.

Summer Break Cafe meals will be served on-site on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

The event is sponsored by the Francis Burns United Methodist Church and managed by the South Carolina Department of Education. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
