LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A Leesville man is in custody after authorities say he pushed someone to the ground, pointed a gun at them and threatened to kill them.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department said it arrested 28-year-old Daniel Gene Crapps on Friday morning for an incident that began the night before. According to Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon, Crapps was at a home on Reedy O. Smith Road in Leesville when witnesses said he pushed someone in the household to the floor. In addition to pointing the gun at them and threatening them, authorities believe he also assaulted the person with the weapon.

Crapps left the scene before deputies arrived, but the search continued into Friday morning. Eventually, deputies found him at a home in the Leesville area and took him into custody, the sheriff said.

Crapps was taken to the Lexington County jail on a charge of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Two counts of possession of a firearm or ammo by a convicted felon have been added. As of Sunday afternoon, Crapps had been allowed a bond but remained in jail.
