Off to the pig races at the South Carolina State Fair

This pig racing event takes place throughout the day and fans in the stands are able to cheer on their favorite piggy as they race around the track.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Swifty Swine Racing and Swimming Pigs has returned to the South Carolina State Fair for their fifteenth year.

This pig racing event takes place throughout the day and fans in the stands are able to cheer on their favorite piggy as they race around the track.

Zach Johnson is the swine master at Swifty Swine Racing and Swimming Pigs. He says this show is for the whole family!

“What I love about this show is you get people at their best,” said Johnson. “They just want to come and let their kids watch the pig race. And I think it bring out a little bit of the child in all of us.”

Michaela Brown and her son Remy were in the crowd and she says this is a memory they will keep.

“Well it’s his first time he is going to remember seeing them,” said Brown. “And the little piggies were so adorable and, in the sombrero, and swimming. Just memories that we’re going to have forever.”

 Swifty Swine Racing and Swimming Pigs takes place in the Academic Avenue.
