SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a teenager was air-lifted to an area hospital on Friday after someone fired into a home with three people inside, including a child.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said deputies were alerted to the shooting around 9:25 p.m. on Robin Hood Avenue. Responding law enforcement found a home that had been shot several times. A 9-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were in the house at the time. The 18-year-old had been shot, the sheriff's office said.

Emergency medical services personnel treated the victim before he was flown to an area hospital for additional treatment.

The sheriff's office said investigators documented the bullet holes in the home and recovered several spent shell casings. Authorities didn't release details regarding a possible suspect or motive in the case as their investigation continues.
