One dead in Fairfield County crash on SC 200, vehicle overturns after hitting tree

The driver, who has not yet been publicly identified by the Fairfield County Coroner's Office, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead following a crash in Fairfield County on Saturday afternoon.

According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 4 p.m. on S.C. 200 at Kauffman Lane, west of Great Falls.

Glover said a 1994 Ford pickup truck was heading east on S.C. 200 when it traveled off the right side of the road, back onto the road, and off the left side. The truck hit a tree and overturned.

The driver, who has not yet been publicly identified by the Fairfield County Coroner's Office, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. There was no one else in the truck, Glover said.
