COLUMBIA, S.C. — In just twenty-six days there were at least nine shootings in the Columbia area, some causing non-life threatening injuries and others leaving families without their loved ones.
On December 11, both Columbia Police Department and Richland County Sheriff's Department responded to two different shootings on Apple Valley Road. Still no word on if those shootings were related.
Days later on December 15, a 26-year-old was shot and killed off of Hallbrook Drive early in the morning.

Also on December 15th, a cab driver was shot to death. The man was on Brooke Ridge Drive and was working for Checker Yellow Cab Company.

On December 17, there were two. RCSD investigated a shooting involving a 14-year-old girl that happened near Aster Circle. There was also a triple homicide that took place in Lexington County.
Less than 48 hours later on December 19, a man was shot while riding his bike along Two Notch Road.
A woman was shot near North Main Street on Friday December 20. She later died from her injuries at the hospital.
Columbia police are investigating a gang related shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead. Officers said they were alerted by their shot spotter technology that detected gun shots near Farrow Road.
